Euro Restaurant Solutions, Inc. (doing business as Marra Forni) is a leading manufacturer of handcrafted brick ovens for commercial and residential use and is also a distributor of private-labeled food service equipment, including refrigerated preparation tables, dough mixers, meat slicers, venting systems, and a wide variety of cooking tools. We are seeking an experienced Controller to join our growing business family. You will work closely with the CEO and Accounting team, as well as other members of “Team Marra”, and you will grow with us along the way. There is significant and real upward career mobility associated with this position.

Responsibilities:

• Effectively maintain all accounts within the general ledger, including revenue, cost of goods, operating expense accounts and balance sheet accounts for the primary entity as well as its smaller operating affiliates.
• Manage the Accounts Receivable process to ensure that all orders are input in a timely and accurate manner, customers are invoiced for deposits and progress payments, and payments are received when due and are posted to customer accounts on a daily basis.
• Manage the Accounts Payable process to ensure that bills contain the required supporting documentation and authorization, are entered in a timely manner, and payments are made to vendors not later than the due date.
• Establish and maintain inventory controls and accuracy in partnership with the Purchasing and Inventory Specialist.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules.
• Assist with the preparation of GAAP financial statements.
• Reconcile all bank and corporate credit card accounts.
• Ensure timely and accurate filing of annual 1099s and sales tax reports.
• Streamline processes for greater accuracy, financial control, and efficiency. Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation across all finance areas

Requirements

• 5-10 years of general accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing and or distribution environment.
• BS/BA degree in accounting.
• CPA or CPA candidate is a plus but is not required.
• Experience managing a small, close-knit team.
• Attention to detail, good organizational skills, and ability to perform efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
• Highly proficient with Microsoft Office and QuickBooks Enterprise for Manufacturing and Distribution.
• Working knowledge of mid-range ERP systems.
• A high level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency.
• Self-starter and detail oriented.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and multi-task.

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes, and can advance rapidly within the organization, with appropriate recognition by the owners, including increases in compensation and title:

• Experience in transitioning from QuickBooks Enterprise to Oracle NetSuite or similar ERP platform.
• Prior experience converting from periodic to perpetual inventory valuation method.
• Working knowledge of inventory costing methods (e. g. FIFO, LIFO, Weighted Average).
• Complete understanding of the components of inventory, including raw materials, work in process, finished goods, as well as the creation of the bill of materials, subassemblies, and part numbers.
• Contribute to the establishment of direct and indirect labor costing applications for all WIP and finished goods components and subassemblies.
• Able to formulate the allocation of manufacturing direct overhead as well as indirect overhead.

Other Duties

• Assist the CEO and COO with special projects and requests.
• Liaise with and support the Manufacturing Operations and Management team on a regular basis as necessary.
• Liaise with and support the Human Resources generalist as necessary.
